In September 2021 we put together a community choir of local residents to perform at our opening night event, alongside Mica Paris, Afrikan Boy and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
The choir were led by Some Voices and after only a few short rehearsals were so keen to continue singing together that we set up the Some Voices Woolwich choir.
The choir now rehearse every Thursday evening at Woolwich Works. The choir is open to everyone – like all Some Voices choirs there are no auditions, no experience is required.
“The group who came together for the launch event were an absolute joy to work with and by the show they really felt and sounded like a choir who have been singing together for years! I was bowled over by their passion for singing and their desire to keep the group together. So I’m super excited that we have launched Some Voices Woolwich choir at the fantastic Woolwich Works venue and I can’t wait to see how it grows.”Laura Howe, Musical Director, Some Voices.
