FAQs: Amplify Human Rights Festival

DONATIONS

I want to donate to Amnesty, how do I do this?
Thank you for your generosity! You can make a donation to Amnesty by visiting amnesty.org.uk/giving/donate/give .

Alternatively, you can choose a “Pay-it-Forward” option when booking your ticket, which enables us to offer free tickets for this event to anyone whose circumstances would otherwise prevent them from attending.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, Woolwich Works is a wheelchair-accessible venue. For more details on access at the venue, please visit woolwich.works/your-visit/accessibility. If you have any questions about the venue, please contact Woolwich Works directly (tickets@woolwich.works or 020 8035 8835). If you have any access requirements to support your attendance at Amplify, please let us know when booking your ticket or contact activistevents@amnesty.org.uk. We appreciate advance notice to enable us to meet your needs.

What chairs do you have at the venue?
Seating is unallocated and on a first come, first served basis. Amplify will be taking place in many different rooms within Woolwich Works, with different seating style in use. If you need more information about the chairs in use at the venue, please contact Woolwich Works directly (tickets@woolwich.works or 020 8035 8835).

I need to bring a carer/Personal Assistant, am I able to attend?
Of course. We offer free tickets for carers and assistants. Please select the companion option when booking.

IMPORTANT: Due to limited capacity in most rooms (except for the Fireworks Factory) we cannot guarantee admission to any specific individual session. If there is a session you are particularly interested in attending, and you wish to be seated next to a carer, please let us know in advance by emailing activistevents@amnesty.org.uk. We will endeavour, where possible, to reserve seats together.

What provisions are made for D/deaf and hard of hearing attendees?
Hearing loops are in use in the following spaces:

  • Fireworks Factory
  • Stonecutters Studio
  • Coopers Studio

All events taking place in the Fireworks Factory will have BSL interpretation. Selected events in other spaces will also be offered with BSL interpretation, and these will be clearly indicated in the printed programme and on our website (please look out for the BSL sign). If you have any queries, or if there is a specific session you are planning to attend, for which you would require BSL interpretation, please contact us on activistevents@amnesty.org.uk. Though we are not able to guarantee the availability of a BSL interpreter for each session, we will do our best to accommodate your request, where possible.

I have a guide dog, am I able to attend?
Yes - please let us know when booking your ticket.

Is a quiet room available?
We are working on making this available on the day of our event and will publish more information once this is confirmed.

TICKETING

Is there a minimum age to attend?
All ages are welcome for this event but anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are free for under 12s.

Do I have to pre-book my ticket?
Yes - space is limited so we strongly encourage you to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Do you offer free tickets?
We hope to make our events more accessible to all. If the ticket price is preventing you from joining us, please email activistevents@amnesty.org.uk to request a free ticket.

I work with a community group. Can we book multiple tickets?
To make our event more accessible, we are offering free tickets to community groups and grassroots organisations who would like to bring a small group of people to the event. If you work or volunteer with people within your community and would like to take up this option, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact activistevents@amnesty.org.uk.

You can download an at-a-glance programme from the event webpage here. A printed programme will be available on the day.

Can I pre-book individual sessions?
We are not able to offer bookings for individual sessions. Admission to these will be on a first-come, first-seated basis.

If there is a session you are particularly interested in attending, we recommend arriving early to the space in which the session is scheduled to take place.

Can I join the in-person event at any time?
Yes - you are welcome to come to the venue at any point during the day. Several sessions are offered on a drop-in basis and will be marked as such in the programme. Latecomers may be admitted into the Fireworks Factory at a suitable time within a session – please note that this may differ depending on the nature of the session taking place.
