The celebrated artist Caroline Hands is Woolwich Works’ first Summer Artist in Residence. A mixed media artist for over 50 years, her exhibition will feature a range of Caroline's paintings, textiles and sculptures throughout the historic Fireworks Factory building at Woolwich Works.

Her large-scale canvases work with vibrant colour and dynamic gesture to create joyful, exuberant paintings that celebrate life in all its diversity. Her subjects range from the abundance of nature, found in gardens and dream-like landscapes, to the resilience of the human spirit in touchingly direct portraits and expressive depictions of dancers and performers.
